This past Friday, UTTC received official notification from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to offer Bachelor’s degrees in the following three areas:
• Business Administration
• Criminal Justice
• Elementary Education
As you know, Teacher Education (Elementary Education) was approved by the state of ND this spring. We are the only ones of the three programs that has an outside accrediting agency so we had to do that first. The good thing was that the Higher Learning Commission figured if we survived the extensive, exhaustive review by the state that we were good enough for them!
This means that, except for those of you student teaching this fall and next spring, you will be graduates of UTTC's Teacher Education instead of Sinte Gleska. A notice has been sent to your funding agencies so they are aware of our status change. Feel free to email Leah or Lisa A. with questions!
