Smithosian Institute 2013 - 2nd Session

The second Smithsonian Institute for 2013 will be held the week of July 29 - August 2. Just like the first one, we will start at 8:30 every day, Monday through Friday, and conclude between 3:30 and 4 PM in the Jack Barden Center on campus. The focus of this session is on teaching life sciences.

Examples of some of the topics include:
Microworlds: Scientific Tools 
Journal Cover: Cells and Microbes
Microbial Garden
Microworlds: Demonstrations and Practice

Handmade Book Structures: Accordion Style

Use of Plants by Native American Tribes for Food, Medicine and Religious Purposes
Making a Medicinal Treatment from Traditional Plants


As Sweet Grass participants, I will also be able to provide you with the same stipend that you received for the first session if you attend full days, all five days. These checks will be given to you on Friday, same as with the first Institute.
