The following is information about the NASA Institute that Kara attended in Houston, TX, last summer. If you are a full-time student, and taking 300 level courses, you are eligible to apply and attend. You should complete the application if you're interested. More than one, maybe all, of you can attend; they don't just select one.
The July 8-14 time slot is best for those of you who will be completing your BECEP practicum (Joelle, Memoree, Yvonne, Billi).
PSTI Overview:
PSTI is a one week summer residential session for Early Childhood and Elementary Education K-8 majors (Pre-service teachers) preparing to teach in an elementary or middle school. College students from diverse backgrounds will spend a dynamic and exciting time at NASA Johnson Space Center where they are exposed to aerospace, mathematics and science enrichment activities. Pre-service teachers are able to interface with NASA personnel, and tour Johnson Space Center facilities, while learning to incorporate NASA's cutting-edge research into lesson plans for elementary and intermediate school students.
JSC PSTI 2012 Program Workshop Dates: Applicants should select which date they prefer to attend, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they will be selected for that particular workshop date. Students only participate in one workshop, not both.
June 24-30, 2011 OR
July 8-14, 2011
PSTI provides a generous support package that includes the following:

• Travel reimbursement (see website for details)
• Transportation to and from NASA and field trip sites
• Meals during the one-week workshop (see website for details)
• Resource materials including binders, books, supplies and curriculum that are provided to participants at the workshop.
