Program Approval Site Visit

As you may know, there will be a team on campus next week, Jan. 18-20, to review our program and ultimately decide if we are approved to offer a bachelor degree in Elementary Education here at UTTC. The team members are:

• Janet Welk, Director of the ND Education Standards & Practices Board (the office that grants teacher licenses in the state of ND)
• Dan Connor from Dickinson State University
• Cheryl Nilsen from Minot State University (team chair)
• Kathy Froelich from Sitting Bull College
• Carmelita Lamb from Turtle Mountain Community College
• Glenn Olsen from University of North Dakota
• Carol Enger from Mayville State University
• Sherryl Houdek from University of North Dakota

The team will be meeting in ED B06 for the week. They will be interviewing a number of people on campus and will also be interviewing you. They basically want your input as to what we are doing here, if you feel we are meeting your needs, providing you an appropriate education, etc.

Notice the two new bulletin boards - one next to Leah's office and one in the hallway by B03. This is our conceptual framework. Please take a minute to become familiar with the information on these boards because they will ask you about it.

You're going to be part of a history making event at UTTC - the first bachelor degree offered by this college! Be proud - you are all going to be "competent, caring teachers" who will represent yourselves, your families, and UTTC well!
