Methods of Teaching Physical Education

Reminder: Those of you taking the Physical Education methods course will begin class on Monday at 9 AM. I believe your schedule might say earlier but you will begin at 9 AM and meet in Room 111 in the Education Building.

Anita Nelson is the instructor. Since I will be in Grand Forks, at my own class, I won't be able to introduce you to her. Anita has been a P.E. teacher with Bismarck Public Schools for 30+ years. You will really like her. She's down to earth, kind and caring, and is well-known for her positive attitude and for the special relationship she has with students.

Anita is also an accomplished horse trainer and has been showing Quarter Horses at the local, regional and national level since she was in her early teens. She used horses with children with disabilities a long time before anybody else in the region was doing it.

You will spend the week in the classroom with her. Then, the following week, you will get to spend a couple of days with Anita in summer school, actually working in the schools and with the kids. She will tell you more about this when you meet with her Monday morning.

Enjoy!
