There's a growing concern about some of you from some of us, your instructors who care about you dearly and want the best for you!
Intervention: Do a Google search for "addicted to Facebook". If you chuckle when you read this, or your heart rate increases, you know you are already addicted and are afraid. You should be afraid! While Facebook is fun, certainly social, and a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, I'm afraid some of you are becoming consumed by it.
Do this: For one day, keep track of the time you are on Facebook. Every time you log in, jot down the time. When you log out, also note the time. Do this for a 24 hour period. At the end of the period, calculate how many minutes you were logged in. Be amazed!
Get a grip on it now, folks, before it consumes you! I would challenge you that if you spent half the time doing homework as you do on Facebook, you would be much less stressed! I know it's not as fun so at least do this: Do your homework, take care of yourself, your family (if you have one), your cat or whatever....when ALL of that is done, then FB away!
I'm making light of this but I'm serious....it's going to be the demise of some of you. You're coming into class late; not prepared for class; etc. and it's getting worse as the year progresses. THINK ABOUT IT!
