The ND Indian Child Welfare & Wellness Conference begins tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Radisson Hotel in Bismarck. Registration opens at 7:30 AM.
The first session I would like all of you to attend is Tuesday morning from 8:30-10:30. Judge William Thorne is going to provide a quick overview of why the ICWA legislation was created and a review of what ICWA requires of agencies to stay in compliance.
All of the conference sessions are located at the Radisson Hotel so you don't have to move around to different buildings for sessions.
As mentioned, registration opens at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Stop at the conference registration area and pick up your conference bag and detailed session information. You'll have to do this before the session begins at 8:30 so allow yourself enough time.
Parking: Do NOT park on the street; you will get fined! Park in the Radisson parking ramp (attached to the hotel). Get a parking ticket and have it validated (stamped) by the conference facilitators. You do NOT have to pay for parking if you park in the Radisson parking ramp.
Attend as many sessions as you can. If you do not want to miss class, leave the conference to attend class then return. It's a quick trip back and forth to the conference hotel so you can do this. You are all registered for this conference (Kara, Marlarae, Nevada, Billi Jo, Yvonne, Memoree, Shyanne & Ro) but it's up to your instructors if they want to cancel class so you can attend..........
